We spent a lot of time testing our product with organisations, questioning them about the issues they face, as well as taking them through high-fidelity prototypes to ensure that the platform meets their needs. From those discussions, we have developed a platform that focuses on two key things: (1) instant, easy matching between organisations and volunteers, and (2) an integrated volunteer management system that enables organisations to quickly post opportunities and then approve and communicate with volunteers. We have had fantastic success stories from organisations about the huge difference skilled volunteers, they found through Collaborate, have made to their organisation. We keep up a regular dialogue with organisations, checking in to make sure the platform meets their needs and how we could improve it. We wanted to create a platform economy designed by and for the social sector, allowing better utilisation of resources through streamlining connection between community organisations and volunteers.
