About

Wild for Taranaki is New Zealand’s FIRST regional biodiversity Trust, created in 2015 to advocate for over 40 environmental groups working within Taranaki to protect and enhance our region’s unique native plants, animals, and ecosystems.

Wild for Taranaki’s activities are coordinated and supported by a small management team who perform the necessary administrative, policy and project management roles. Wild for Taranaki is the coordinator for the Restore Taranaki Initiative and shares the vision with its members, of restoring Taranaki’s biodiversity by 2050.

Wild for Taranaki encourages individuals, groups and organisations to work together in partnership. Together, we can achieve far more than we can by working in isolation. Through collaboration, sharing of knowledge and information, we will achieve success and fulfil our vision for the future.
