We are a group of volunteers who organise a one day festival in Upper Moutere . We have craft and food stalls, we have cooking demonstrations and kidz zone, we have cream teas and animals, we have local history and book fair, we have silent auction and great music all on the one day and one place!!

Expanding on those in the public realm as well as learning of those unsung heroines that keep our community going in roles that are much less known.

Read MoreDays for Girls is an International nonprofit organisation that has helped over 1 million women and girls in over 116 countries by providing them with washable femine hygiene kits and menstrual health education. Around the world girls and women resort to using rags, mattress stuffing, banana leaves and cardboard to manage their menstruation. There are now over 50,000 volunteers world wide sewing these kits. NZ has 18 teams throughout the country and last year produced 6,000 kits and 1,500 kits were supplied locally. I have started up a Nelson Team and we meet every Thursday 11-4pm at the Old Richmond Information Centre on Gladstone Rd. Richmond Rotary are sponsoring us to buy the 100% cotton fabric that the kits are made from. They are all sewn to a high standard and are expected to last 3-4 years.

We provide promotional information and activities to encourage local and out of district visitors and new residents. Some of the events we run include the Richmond Santa Parade and Richmond Market Day. We also act as a key link between Tasman District Council and the Richmond businesses to support development and activities that benefit the town and business. We also engage with key organisations such as the Nelson Regional Development Agency, Chamber of Commerce and Nelson Tasman Business Trust on behalf of Richmond.
