Meet the speakers
Polly works in corporate sponsorships and events for a children’s charity. She has two beautiful step-children and a handful of a baby boy. She is the Chair of the Shakti Ethnic Women’s Support Group in Christchurch and has always advocated for the power in volunteering your time and expertise in the domestic and sexual violence sectors. On the odd occasion that she has free time she loves dressmaking, reading crime novels and eating beautiful food.
Andrea is a feminist, changemaker and consultant who has been volunteering for various organisations since arriving in post-earthquake Christchurch as a young professional eager to contribute to the new city. She currently serves on the boards of Catapult Employment Services and the Christchurch YWCA, and recently finished a 3 year term as Chair of Trade Aid Christchurch. Fair trade and development causes are in her blood, and she is also passionate about supporting organisations which help vulnerable members of society find dignity and meaningful work. Andrea sees volunteering as a great way to grow personally and professionally and encourages young people to consider governance roles in our local charities and social enterprises.
Tarryn Wilson is a young 18 year old active volunteer who has a strong passion for helping others by contributing her skills and knowledge to the wider community of Canterbury, New Zealand. Since the age of 14, Tarryn has eagerly sought out a wide range of volunteer opportunities - Each which have all played a part in influencing and growing her into the young leader that she is today. You’ll often see Tarryn interacting with others, especially those who are from the generation below her as she believes that there is a significant amount of importance around how we as the people they look up to influence them into the characters they’ll soon become.

Join us in celebrating one year of collaborating across New Zealand.
On 25 October 2017 Collaborate launched after years and years of co-design, brainstorms, hackathons, design sprints, surveys, in-depth user testing and hundreds of coffees.
Hundreds of people from community organisations, volunteers and changemakers have shaped the Collaborate app and their ideas and inspiration have created a movement - a movement of people passionate about connection, and an app that brings them together.
We want to celebrate everyone who has played a role in designing, creating, using and supporting Collaborate, not only in the year of operation but for all of those years behind the scenes as well.
Join us and celebrate!
